Kenya

Finishing Touches

Several weeks ago I departed from Laikipia Permaculture Centre,  headed to Tanzania for some adventures with dear friends Sasha Rabin, Lindsay Allen, and Andrew Sifuri. Eventually parting ways with them I worked my way out to the coast and followed the beach back up into Kenya. Having poured the earthen floor in our cob demonstration house before leaving, I returned a few days ago to put on the finishing touches. After several coats of linseed oil and turpentine (at different ratios) the floor is beautifully sealed and the cob house ready to be lived in.

Gallery: Night in Mombasa

Working my way north from the Tanzanian coast, I crossed back into Kenya and decided to seek out some peace and quiet amidst the chaos of Mombasa. Intending to stay a few days I watched instead as a week came and went, my days filled with writing work and my evenings spent exploring the gritty and beautiful nightscape of the city. The following images were the result. Enjoy.
